My ideas would be to:
1) Have matt check for traps on the door and stairs.
2) send matt down to scope out the room
3) ...
4) profit

My assumption is that they are undead. I am not sure how they are involved in the kobold attacks so this might be a bad assumption. So evil mage controlling everything?
Can we lead sum up into the current room to thin them out. Use the door way as a choke point?
If they are undead and we have to go into the room then send the cleric in first to turn some of them?

Everyone should grabs some spears and slings to ensure they have ranged attacks.

Or send in the changeling to infiltrate with the kobold mask on to check for traps and baddies. We can tie a rope to him to pull him out if he falls in a pit or something.

Yeah, as a kobold but use the mask to look more like the kobold leader. You don't speak kobold do you?
We should use the elbow in the hall as a choke point if possible.
